New Empire Avenue Secret Achievements Unlocked

by THE INFLUENCIER on April 1, 2011 •  9 comments

Empire Avenue Secret AchievementsAfter months of careful research and a ton of trial and error, THE INFLUENCIER can now report that there are three new Empire Avenue Secret Achievements that can be unlocked for some very lucrative rewards.

(e)DUPS and the rest of the Empire Avenue Team have truly outdone themselves with these three new secret achievements, both in terms of clever creativity and with the size of the rewards.  Upon unlocking the first reward, “THE JACKPOT” you receive 72,000 Eaves. Yes, that’s right — 72,000 Eaves! Apparently, the Empire Avenue Crew was feeling quite generous (or perhaps had a long coding night while under the influence of some adult libations).

To unlock THE JACKPOT you must reaarange the letters in the last names of Empire Avenue CEO and semi-professional sword swallower Duleepa “Dups” Wijayawardhana, VP of Marketing and Media Relations Tom Ohle (little known fact: In the movie “Source Code” Jake Gyllenhaal’s forearms were digitally replaced with Tom’s), and Director of Digital Alchemy Aaron K. White (the K stands for “warlocK”)  into a five word phrase, and enter it as your Empire Avenue Status. You can type it in either upper or lower case, doesn’t matter.

As is policy at THE INFLUENCIER, we choose not to reveal the specific mechanics necessary to unlock Secret Achievements, so that others who enjoy the tackling the challenge un-aided can… um… enjoy the challenge? Yeah, that’s it. BUT — since this is such a fantastic reward, and the challenge is somewhat… um… challenging? We’re gonna provide you with a hint. Here goes: the first word has 7 letters, and the last word rhymes with “Charlie Sheen”

Facebook... We know everything about you.The gang at Empire Avenue HQ has been continuously improving the integration of the game mechanics across various social media outlets, and the next two achievements showcase that integration. The second secret achievement “THE TOWN CRIER” highlights interaction specifically with facebook, and it’s AWESOME! Here’s why: while THE TOWN CRIER achievement only adds a measley 250 eaves to your bank account, it multiplies all of your facebook activity by a factor of 5. The result? Well, if you’re active on facebook, you will start to see an immediate and sustained increase in your share price, when the Empire Avenue Market Makers calculate your facebook Connection Scores. Who knows? Unlock THE TOWN CRIER and you might even catch (e)JOSH.

Now, again normal policy at THE INFLUENCIER is not to give away any spoilers when it comes to Empire Avenue Secret Achievements, but this one is involved, so here’s a rundown of the process to get you started.

To unlock THE TOWN CRIER, first you need to be signed into Empire Avenue (duh!) You also need to be signed into facebook. Next, you need to like the Empire Avenue facebook page, (if you’ve already liked it, unlike it and re-like it). Finally, you need to find 4 other people in your portfolio who have connected a blog to their Empire Avenue Account, endorse their blog if you haven’t already, visit their blog, use the facebook like button to “like” their blog and share it with your friends, and (this is the key step) when you click “like” on their blog,  add a comment in the facebook like button box (if you don’t add a comment, Empire Avenue won’t count it toward the secret achievement). One caveat, if the person has connected a blog to their Empire Avenue account, but does not have a facebook “like” button on their blog, you won’t be able to use that person’s blog to unlock THE TOWN CRIER, you’ll have to choose another person’s blog. If you need a blog to “like” THE INFLUENCIER suggests Two Penguins, One Iceberg. It’s a webcomic about Two Penguins on an Iceberg, authored by (e)DARING. It’s guaranteed to give you a laugh (guarantee only applies if you find it funny). Oh, and the facebook like button works on it like a charm!

YouTube... Have you seen that Rebecca Black video yet? No? Lucky you.The final Secret Achievement showcases Empire Avenue’s integration with YouTube, and in the opinion of THE INFLUENCIER is the most entertaining. Dups and crew have been having fun with the video camera again. EMPIRE AVENUE IDOL gives you 760 eaves and it gives you an automatic 7 point share price increase (not sure how long the share price increase stays in effect, best guess is at least a week). Now here’s why this one is the most fun: they’ve uploaded a video to YouTube and hidden clues to the EMPIRE AVENUE IDOL secret achievement inside it.  Hidden might be too strong a word, they basically hold up the answer on cue cards. Skip ahead to the 2minute 17 second mark if you don’t want to watch the whole thing. But really, you should watch it, it’s freakin’ hilarious. All I’m at liberty to say is it’s a song and dance number featuring the whole gang ( including (e)SQRL ), a whole lotta Jello and a giant chicken. Here’s the link.

SID, Scott is correct, Town Crier is just a silly little joke. This was an April Fool’s Day Joke. Still, thank you for liking the Penguins!

SCOTT, your ticker is coming through just fine in the comments. In case you’re curious, it’s a modified twitter handle plugin.
