“Crazy.”
“Insane.”
“Wow.”
Just a few of the words used to describe the [X]perience that was [X]PENDAPALOOZA. For 24 hours, eaves flew fast and furious in a flurry of unfettered, and often ferocious frivolity, back and forth between traders inside the walls of the [X]PENDAPALOOZA Community. In the end, the community grew from zero to 283 members overnight, turning it into the 13th largest Personal Community on Empire Avenue.
At the time of this writing, out of the 283 members who joined the community, 61 had reported how much they spent “investing it forward” by buying shares and selflessly reinvesting whatever they received from others during the event. That number amounted to… Drumroll please….
Reported Total: 27,413,411.74e
Now remember, only 61 out of 283 — roughly 20% — reported how many eaves they spent during [X]PENDAPALOOZA. Which means, in theory, that transactions totaling well over 135 million eaves took place. Can I get a “What! What!” from all the mathletes in the hizzouse? Now, it’s entirely possible that the other 222 people didn’t spend a single Peave. That’s highly improbable, but possible nonetheless.
(Editor’s note: a “Peave” is the equivalent of 1/100th of an eave, formally referred to as a “Centeave” by Nobel Prize-winning Economists, officers of the World Bank, Wikileaks, and various Treasury Secretaries of nations in the industrialized world. Now when you look at your share price or your bankroll, you’ll know what to call those numbers to the right of the decimal point. You’re welcome).
In Theory, 135 Million Eaves Were Exchanged.
To put this in perspective, if you were to stack 135 million eaves, one on top the other, you could build a tower that would reach from the Empire Avenue headquarters in Edmonton all the way to… uh… er…
Okay, never mind. Let’s just say that’s a lot of eaves and move on.
Numbers aside, the anecdotal evidence provided by the people who participated in [X]PENDAPALOOZA speaks volumes to the event’s success and the power of community on Empire Avenue:
“The POWER of [X]PENDAPALOOZA! My friend Shelley (e)SHELLS joined 24 hours a ago. I’ve been on Empire Avenue for about a month. People bought 15,033 shares of me, and 15,004 of her – IN 24 HOURS!!! She now has AS many shares outstanding as I do! She’s in for ONE DAY and reaches what I’ve done in a month! Thank you everyone! Thanks [X] bar folk for her huge welcome!”
- Natalie Lamb (e)NLAMB

“After putting my name into the roll call of [X]PENDAPALOOZA, my share price went from orange-ish to nearly my highest price of all time!”
- Jim Turner (e)GENUINE
“Yeah!! It has been a great event – I’m only 8 days in – this event has allowed me to get to over 100 investors!”
- Lisa Granata (e)CALL4HITJOBS
“This has been an amazing experience! I think the number of accounts in my portfolio went from about 650 to 800 or more when all was said and done. GREAT way to get the eaves to the average player & brilliantly executed!”
- Jake Kern (e)JKW
“Just made my 500th investment on Empire Avenue! Couldn’t have done it without [X]PENDAPALOOZA!”
- Ziggy Harris (e)ZIGGY
“Morning for me was 3am last night. Ran out of cash 5 times
What fun [X]PENDAPALOOZA! Thanks to all the new friends, supporters, investors, blog endorsers, thumbs uppers and commenters! Tons of new friends in Twitter, Facebook and YouTube! Love it !!!”
- Axel Schultze (e)AXELS
“[X]PEDNAPALOOZA! 10 out of 10! Continue the spirit of paying it forward!”
- Stephen Blake (e)LVS
“Definitely a fun way to get to know the people! Thank you to the organizers for thinking up such a fine community activity. It was lively and fun! The energy was wonderful! Can’t believe how many folks kept on contributing!!”
- Liz Straus (e)LIZS
Rumors Abound…
For those that participated, not only was the event a fantasmagorical display of generosity and community engagement, there were rumors floating about that it was also an opportunity to unlock a special achievement.
[X]cept, that wasn’t a rumor. It’s the Real Deal.
Yep. That’s right. THE INFLUENCIER can now confirm an [X]tra special achievement will soon be added to your colle[X]ion.
Those of you who posted your ticker and starting portfolio balance in the “ROLL CALL” thread during the scheduled hours of the event will soon be receiving the “[X]PENDAPALOOZA – Investing It Forward” achievement (aka “The Inaugural Backbone of the Community Achievement”), pictured at the top of this post. Kudos go to Empire Avenue’s Director of Digital Alchemy and famed firearms taxation advocate, Aaron K. White (e)BIGA for the achievement’s graphic design. I for one think it looks [X]quisite!
But Wait! There’s More!

Wow! That’s a lot of digital monehs!
I had a great time during [X]pendapalooza, and connected with a metric truckload of new people.
How awesome is that badge!? I really love the way that EAv is satisfactorily mahoosive now, yet still in-touch with user generated events/content. Three and a half thumbs up!
Two things: Firstly, “Satisfactorily Mahoosive?” Does that have something to do with Mooses? Er.. Meese? And third and halfly: You have a strange number of thumbs. Llamas are weird.
Thank you so much for telling people about the [x]pendapalooza t-shirt!!
Wowza!!! I’m speechless…
Hey Startup Shirt http://www.StartupShirt.com Happy to spread the word about your impressive garments. Just don’t let THE INFLUENCIER catch wind of any oppressive Squirrel-based labor practices. That could prove troublesome for your PR department. Just sayin: http://www.influencier.com/breaking-news-empire-avenue-mistreats-animal-interns
That was a blast. Loved investing, running out, getting more eaves from others, and investing again.
Couldn’t figure out how to explain to my wife why I was glued to my laptop.

[X]pendapalooza was amazing!!
Not sure where you get all of your impressive intel, but I was just awarded the achievement you mentioned earlier, e[X]cellent…
That was so awesome. This is how you do a community right!
i like [X]pendapalooza..
amazing..
So. Much. Fun.
It was such an awesome day. Paying it forward, spreading the love (read: eaves), getting to connect to as many people as I could. It was like no stopping us then, every time I ran out of eaves, someone would fill me up again, and I just had to spend ‘em to someone else yet again. And it went on and on like crazy. I loved the feeling! Let’s do that again some time soon..
What a great summary – thanks for the mention!!! Yeah it was a hell of a ride3 all night. Awesomeness pure – met about 50 very cool new people. Loved it.
